Babu Owino: A Pig's bladder on a stick

Babu Owino: A Pig's bladder on a stick

Responding to a speech by conservative MP Terry Dicks in 1990 Labor Member of parliament Tony Banks lashed out that the honorable member is living proof that a pig’s bladder on a stick can be elected to parliament. King Henry Cate (VII) of England (1457- 1509) thought the problem with political jokes is that they get elected.

Babu Owino (Honorable by status and not deeds) whose election as the Embakasi East MP is unsurprisingly being contested in a court of law is a man who King Henry Cate (VII) had foreseen. Babu Owino’s absurdity got him into parliament. Napoleon Bonaparte reckoned that in politics absurdity is not a handicap, he was right!

The dishonorable member is on a rampage throwing all manner of tantrums to the jubilee administration of which he ignorantly disputes its legitimacy- which is democratic. He once publicly insulted President Kenyatta, he’s insulted Dr. Matiangi even though he has since denied as expected. Charles de Gaulle said that since a politician never believes what he says, he is quite surprised to be taken at his word. This seem to be true of Babu Just as Writer and Comedian Julius Henry ‘Groucho’ marx puts it, that politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, diagnosing it correctly, and applying the wrong remedies.

The MP is on record for being apprehended a number of times for various illegalities including for the venom from his undiplomatic mouth. Court battles have taken center stage at the expense of the people of Embakasi whose development is now repugnant since his unprecedented election. Babban Kumar, a member of parliament in India once said ‘without going to jail, you cannot be a big politician’ I bet Babu heard this.

It’s hard to understand what the dude is fighting for, who he’s fighting and why he’s fighting them. Babu just seem to be riding in the infamous glory of insulting the big to win over the small which is unprincipled politics, draconian and preposterous to modern times. They say political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rapidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Finally, I wish to offer Babu and Co the Adlai Stevenson’s bargain. If they will stop telling lies about the undisputed ruling Jubilee Party, we will stop telling the truth about them as entailed in the NRM General Miguna’s books Peeling Back the Mask and Kidneys for the king.
