The Ministry of ICT plans to launch five training centers next month financed by the Rockefeller Foundation and the Kenya Private Sector Alliance. ICT Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru says this is part of the Ajira program that seeks to train one million online workers in the next one year. The training is part of the government’s broader strategy to address youth unemployment.

In a press statement, Mr Mucheru announced that the ministry of ICT will roll out an introductory training for new online workers that will see 10,000 youths acquire skills to earn a living through the internet.

Eligible young people are required to log onto www.ajiradigital.go.ke and sign up for the available 10,000 slots. Remember this is a one week residential training to be provided free of charge at various centers in Nairobi, Nakuru, Meru, Kisumu and Mombasa in June.
