More About Kenya Childrens Home Adoption Society

The Kenya Children's Home Adoption Society provides professional advice and support services for those who wish to adopt locally and internationally.

The love affection and relationship of a family is deep and abiding yet many families are unable to experience childbirth for a myriad of reasons. Adoption would be right for you!

Families with children of their own are also encouraged to consider opening their hearts and homes to additional children through adoption.

The agency is located in Nairobi within the precincts of Thomas Barnados House with a branch in Nakuru.

Time and effort is taken to tailor services to the unique emotional, physical, spiritual and financial need of each family.

Our Mission

Our motto is our mission

"Everything is done in the child's best interest"

Many children in various children's homes in Kenya are waiting for a loving family and our adoption society is here to help bring families together.

We strive to place each child into a well-screened suitable home(accepting national and international applicants, single or married) - whilst also keeping within the ethos of the society and adhering to the vest practices and best interest of the child.

Every adoption moves us close to our goal;

"A home for every child, serving his or her interest."

Let us help you bring together your special family

Our History

In 1961, Barnados UK set up a children's home in Nairobi. This was handed over to a Kenyan Trust - Kenya Children's Home who have run Thomas Barnado House since 1973.

It is under the auspices of the home that the adoption society mandated to conduct both local and international adoptions was licensed in October 2005 by the National Adoption Committee.

KCH seeks to foster a positive attitude towards adoption as a parenting option. All for the benefit of Kenyan children.

What we do

  • Placing children for adoption both locally and internationally.
  • Vetting potential parents to determine their suitability to adopt.
  • Sensitizing the society on child protection mechanisms specifically Adoption through seminars and workshops.
  • Participating in policy formulation when called upon.
